pcmcia cards not functioning
Hi,
First of all - I'm a newbie here. Sorry if I appear a novice (because I am!). My problem is with my Compaq Presario Notebook running Win Me. I have been working on a wireless network/internet connection for months without issues until this week, when I can no longer receive a signal through the card. The card is receiving power. I have tried connecting direct to the modem with ethernet. However, this does not work, even though the card is receiving power & is lighting up appropriately. The modem, router & broadband connection are all fine (with my desktop runnign XP), as are the cables & signal etc. Device manager says that my pcmcia adapter & card(s) are fully working. I'm assuming that this is a WinMe issue? Any ideas? Cheers Walders |

Sounds like a broken winsock issue. Are you getting an IP address from the router on either wired or wireless?
If not. Download hijackthis to a floppy and run it on the presario. Copy the log to text file, then post it back here.
