Boot back up and then click Start/Run; type msconfig and click OK.

ON the General Tab, make sure it is set to either Normal Startup or Selective, based on if you have used this program before. Click Apply if any changes are made, then OK. It may be stuck in a Diagnostic Boot mode loop of some kind.

Worth a shot......

You can try out the following resources:

1. HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - The Computer Always Starts in Safe Mode (its the same for Laptops)

2. The Computer Always Starts in Safe Mode ( Microsoft for 98, 98SE)

Try the first one first, the second is a bit tricky.

Good Luck!

Hold down F8 key at boot up, select 1 for normal, you may have another issue that needs addressed (the reason it is in safe mode).
