Win98 doesn't start up

I recently virus scanned my Win98 machine from safe mode, and when restarting into normal mode, I got a general protection error, and Windows didn't start. I used Knoppix on the machine, checked out the bootlog, and found the following:
[000D33AD] Loading Vxd = ndis2sup.vxd
[000D33AE] LoadFailed = ndis2sup.vxd

It looked to me like the only error. Also, the computer did this same thing a while ago. I figured I'd give up on it, and install another O/S on it some other time, but then after hooking it up a couple months later, found Win98 to be working fine. An oddity, or normal for Windows98?

That's probably a missing or corrupted driver. For the driver download go here.

Have you tried booting up with a bootdisk and type in sfc to see if it will fix the problem? It's probably worth a try.
