My System

Send a message via MSN to carsey
In the BIOs make sure the computer is set to boot from the CD drive first. Put the CD in the drive and check to see whether it manages to get to the setup pages.

You may need a boot disk, go to Bootdisk.com and create a windows 98 boot disk

Place it in the floppy drive and boot, at the command promt type fdisk. Select option 4 to see if there is a partition on the drive if not you need to create one, then format the drive. Then insert the windows cd in to the drive, go to the d: prompt [or whichever your cdrom is ] at the D: prompt type SETUP. This should start installing windows for you, follow the prompts

Good luck

Hi Geekgirl is correct, The MS install CD for 98 does not boot. You can make a boot disk on any 98 system, borrow one from a friend or download one. MadBoot is a free download that will do the job, but there are plenty to be had.
