If you install UltraVNC on them, you can do complete remote control, including of course, shutdown.

VNC will not run from a command line; it is strictly a GUI. A possible solution may be Killer Daemon. This program works over telnet and allows, with the correct login and password, almost complete control over the host computer (including remote shutdown). I cannot find a link for the download, but I'll look on my old computer to verify the program's name, as I haven't used it in a long time.

Funny, I didn't see a request for a command line solution.

I was mistaken about the name of the program; it is actually fictional daemon, and can be downloaded here |

oops I guess I forgot to mention that part about the command line but it is a moot point now. Picked up some spy ware that corupted my explore file so am having to reinstinstall. I am going to try and put 2000 on it and see if I can make it work using the remote capabilities that are built into it.
