javascript missing or broken?

Hi to Everybody,

I have done some cleaning as usual (Norton SW, Registry Mechanic, Spyboat...) but this time I am experiencing few problems with my Adelphia webpage. Whenever I open my Adelphia webmail page the following alert shows up 'This application needs Javascript enabled to function correctly'. I can still login and open my messages, but I CANNOT delete, move, ..... them. The relative buttons are not active and the trash icon doesn't appear by the option 'trash'. I CAN do all of the above if I login on a remote computer using, obviously, my ID and password. It looks like some javascripts are missing or corrupted. I have all the right otpions checked in my control panel. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Thank you

AP

Hi, welcome to TSF

Download the latest Java Runtime Environment (5.09), install it then restart your browser and test it.

If the control panel options are ok, check your firewall and other security software to make sure scripting is allowed.

javascript missing

Koala,

thank you for your email. I have the latest version of Java as you suggest and tested ok. I have all the javascripts checked 'enable' or 'prompt' in the control panel but those like 'not marked safe' or 'no certificate'. Do you think I should enable also those ones? Regarding firewall and other security applications, what should I go looking for. I have System Work 2005. I also re-dawnloaded IE 6 assuming that the problem could be there.

There should be a setting in Norton to block or allow scripting, but I don't use it so I can't tell you exactly where to look.

If you're running Spybot's resident program (Teatimer) in the background, try disabling it temporarily.

Also, check your firewall. I use Zone Alarm which can block scripts and cookies and I think most other firewalls have a similar feature.

Set the 'not safe' javascripts to 'prompt'. If this doesn't help, set them back to disabled.

javascript mising RECOVERED!!!!

Koala,

I've finally found the solution and got Adelphia webpage and email back!!!!
You directed me towards the solution! Thank you. It was right there at the bottom of the page. When I opened Adelphia webmail at the bottom of the page appeared the 'restricted' icon; so I went to Tools, Internet Options, Security and finally Restricted Areas where, among hundred websites, I found three *adelphia.net addresses. I recovered all of them and voila'.....

Thank you and let's make sure that other people will know about this possible easy solution!
