Yes flash drives do (sometimes) work in 98. they don't only work for WinME. You need a 98 driver though. You should go to the manufacturer's site (the driver is usually under "help and support" or something like that) to answer your third question, If you drag the files onto the flash drive from your 98 desktop, they will be there on the xp machine. I have an Imation swivel flash drive and I had to dowload a 98 driver from www.imation.com

Hi, Some flash drives are for XP, but come with a note on how to get the driver for 98SE. Mine worked great. Win98 did not use the USB very well so you may also have to have a 98 patch. Not sure.
Good Luck, Jim |

Re: Windows 98 and a flash drive
If your still trying to get your flash drive to work with Windows 98FE 4.10 then I have the answer for you. No one solution works on it's own, but I found a combo of 2 solutions that do work. Their easy to install if you have directions. My directions are a page a half long as they are done step by step. You can find those directions and links to the one download you need, only 1mb, at http://www.abraxis.com/hmc130
I'm trying to distribute this info as widely as possible and am uploading my webpage to as many free web servers as I can find hoping it reach as many people as possible. Just follow the instructions and your flash drive will be working just fine.http://www.techsupportforum.com/images/smilies/wave.gif http://www.techsupportforum.com/images/smilies/wave.gif![]() |
