e-mail importing dilemma

Here the problem.

I recently updated from an old Win 95 machine to a new machine running Win Xp. I also transferred to Firefox and Thunderbird. I have the old drive in an external enclosure and am trying to get the e-mails from it imported into thunderbird and it is not co-operating. Any tips?

I should add that when browsing the old drive with outlook express importng wizard (which by the way, only gives me the options to import from outlook 4 and 6) it always tells me there are no e-mails there.

I know they are there, they were there yesterday when the drive was in the old computer.

For anyone that may care, I got the e-mails imported into thunderbird. It took some reading of the microsoft knowledge base, but I got it figured out.

Now, I am on to the address book.
