am I stuck in safe mode, and if so how do I get out?
I'm not really good with computers. In fact this is the only one I've ever owned. I would just get rid of this and get a new one, but theres alot of files on there that I want to retrieve first. Anyways, my computer is stuck in what appears to be safe mode. When you first turn on your computer, theres a button you hit that is supposed to let you choose which mode you're in. I hit that and I try to take my computer out of safe mode with that, but it still look the same. I've tried hitting one of the buttons that makes it reformat but it was still the same. I have no idea what to do to get things back to normal. Any help would be strongly appreciated.

If you are stuck in safe mode the following things are displayed on screen: Top Left/ Bottom Left/ Top Right/ Bottom Right corners the words Safe Mode are displayed.
To get out of it: 1.Click start, shutdown/or turn off and then click restart. 2.Keep on pressing F8 when you computer starts restarting. 3.When the menu appears, select 'Normal Mode' or the like with arrow keys on key board and hit enter. You are now out of safe mode. (if you were in it in the 1st place!) Just to repeat it. Last edited by koala; 06-02-2006 at 05:20 AM. |
