Question Can't find driver for video card in Win 98 SE

Help!!

This is getting extremely frustrating.

I am working on a friends PC which is on Windows 98 SE but I can't locate the driver for the video card as it is running on a standard VGA driver.

The PC is a P2 400 Ipex PC and I believe the video card is a Nvidia TNT2 M64 PCI 32 MB with a Model number of SP5300. That is what is written on the PCI card.

I cannot locate this driver anywhere and I need to get this fixed so I can return it my friend.

Can anyone tell me where I can get this driver from as I have looked everywhere.

Thanks

www.nvidia.com I believe you will have to use the forceware drivers,
do some reading on it at the site.

My System

The latest version of forceware (80) won't work with the TNT2. You need Forceware 71.89

Compatible with
TNT2
TNT2 Pro
TNT2 Ultra
TNT2 Model 64 (M64)
TNT2 Model 64 (M64) Pro

My System

..or get the unofficial OMEGA nVidia driver-pack....when the forceware doesn't work that is. First try official software, than try the OMEGA pack.

Very confused. Video adapter issue with Win 98

Hi there,

This has confused me. I have just recently reinstalled Windows 98 SE on a friends computer that got a trojan horse. Everything installed fine except I have run into an issue with the video adapter.

I posted a thread previously about finding drivers for a Nvidia TNT2 M64 PCI 32MB video which I have now but Windows 98 refuses to detect that I have that card. It is written on the card so it is definately a Nvidia TNT2.

I put the card in, win 98 brings up the box saying building driver list and then detects it as a Standard VGA device and asks for the drivers. It will not detect the brand of video card or even pick it up as a unknown device. If I try and run the drivers for the Nvidia it comes back and says it is not running a Nvidia card and aborts. (It shows up at boot that it is running a Nvidia display adapter but windows does not acknowledge it).

I tried different ports on the motherboard. Even tried another video adapter from diamond multimedia which is on the dedicated Video port not PCI. Same thing. Please help as I don't get it.

PC is IPEX P2 400Mhz.

Just curious if you have tried a driver from the windows 95/98/me driver archive. I have used it recently with success after removing the original driver while in safe mode.
