Both programs are considered to be malware/rogueware/spyware by some "anti" programs. As such, your software may be blocking their use. Ie: spybot's "inoculation" feature will automatically block coolsavings from running

malware/rogueware/spyware/virus's fall into the same catagory. That's how the the statement can be true. Are you running any spybot adaware av software. If not, see the security forums for assistance in getting your machine clean

Did the issue start immediately when you installed the modem.
Check your internet settings. System file checker Start>run>sfc /scannow to check for corrupt files. Did you defrag hard drive after spyware removal? You should be able to get a more complete error message from event viewer Control panel>administrative tools>event viewer>select “system” in left panel. In right panel will be a list of events. Highlight the appropriate error (will probably have it’s source listed as browser), rite click, select properties. The error will be described. Please post the error description and event ID number If that doesn’t produce a result, select “Application” in left panel and try again Last edited by hwm54112; 05-31-2006 at 08:18 PM. |

The KB891711.EXE is a security update but doesn’t seem to apply top your issue directly. But it still could be the problem if it’s corrupt. You could try uninstalling that update and re-installing after the issue is resolved
The adobe is normal to change system files but you could try uninstalling/re-installing that or go to adobe and try to update the program Internat.exe is a supposed to be a required service in windows, so I don’t get the “Try exiting internat”. Internat is also a trojan but it doesn’t seem like it would cause a problem like yours but it is possible. You may want to check the dates on that file and compare to when issue started I would try uninstalling the update, especially if the problem started in mid-april if that is when the update was installed on your computer (that was it’s release date. You may have installed at a later time. If that time coincides to when the problem started, it could be it. You should be able to find the date your updates were installed. In xp, they are in the windows folder and are easily recognized. Compare dates to the date the issue started. (approximate) Running the sfc would replace any corrupt system files. Re0installing ie may be required as sfc may not correct the version you are using. I don’t know what the repair of ie does. As a last resort, you could try downloading and installing opera as a replacement for ie. i use it, it’s fantasic almost zero learning curve. It doesn’t fix your problem but it may be a workaround and tell you categorically if ie is the issue. I am unfamiliar with the spyware you used. Every spyware program picks up different things, ignores others. If you were that loaded, there could be more. Spybot and adaware seem to be industry standards and both are free-if you are able to download. In any case run the sfc after any syware removal. |

INTERNAT.EXE file is old 1/31/00 should i delete it? Last edited by cubbieduke; 06-02-2006 at 01:40 PM. |

Microsoft has acknowledged that a security patch issued in January for its Windows 98 and Windows ME operating systems may cause performance issues for customers who have downloaded the update. Their suggestion was to only disable at startup via msconfig. It caused havoc in alot of Windows ME systems.
Please note that by uninstalling this update, the machine will return to a vulnerable state. http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-5648595.html Considering you are experiencing issues with IE try this: Try IEFix Click the Apply button You'll be prompted for the Operating System CD or the Service Pack Files location: If you're using Windows 2000/XP, insert the Operating System CD. For OEM systems, point to the Operating System source path when prompted. If you've applied a Service Pack separately, you need to insert the Slipstreamed Operating System CD (if you have one) or point the installer to the ServicePack source path when prompted (see Fig 2 below). Mention the path as "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386" or "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles" If you don't have the Windows installation CD, and if the installation source files are not present in the hard disk, you may click Cancel. IEFix will continue with DLL registration part. Restart Windows http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm IEFix - is a general purpose repair utility for Internet Explorer which repairs Internet Explorer by registering it's core DLL files and reinstalls using the IE.INF file. More Information is given below. Suitable for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP systems.

I wouldn't delete internat.exe as it is a windows file. if anything just rename it. I would try first to see if it is running as a service in msconfig and disable it. It seems that windows considers it an essential service but as I see it, it only affects keyboard languages so it is not essential. I don't have 98 so I can't test this. Go with geekgirl first she knows much better than I
