EEK! help with scandisk

hello, can someone help me, i have been trying to figure this one out for the longest, i have more than one problem, but let me start with my scandisk which lies in my computer tools. i can scan disk drive d, i can scan scan quick scans, but when i do thorough for c drive which is larger, it starts for like 10 secs, then it stops. i have taken off my quick launch, which is right by my start menu, and i have turned off everything except explorer, and system tray, and still it wont work. ok im going to go back to when it all started, mabe someone has a clue. my mcafee was doing its automatic update one day and my computer froze, so i restarted it, ever since then i couldnt even access my internet applications in mcafee firewall, that was the first problem, so i uninstalled it, (nothing changed) i did system restore, (nothing changed), then i went to to just get on the internet and mcafee didnt even reconize my wireless router, i have to manuly hit the connect this once, and my yahoo messenger is the worse, my whole computer freezes after 5-10 mins of it being open. and i can use scandisk only for drive d, or quick check for c, but not thorough. my os is win me, i have all my windows updates, i dont know what else to do, i even went to mcafee and they just say uninstall, and reinstall, i have done 3 times, and yahoo messenger, i think all these problems stem from the same problem, and no i dont have no viruses, or addware, i checked. anyone, please help me thanks alot!!

First off ME had problems of its own, Bill should have never released it.
But he made a few million off of it so its all good for Microsoft. That being
said, try running scan disk in safe mode., when that is done run defrag in
safe mode. It might help, worth a shot.
