Mail Merge Problem

On attempt to do routine mail merge. Mail merge worked on first attempt this afternoon but would not work again following some data in the excel document being modified.

Error:'Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to microsoft excel to complete current task'

Machine is Windows XP SP2 running MS Office 2000 SP3.

Did you close the Word and Excel files and then re-open the Word mail merge main document after you made the changes to the Excel file?

Hi Anne,

It's not actually myself that is having the problem, so I cannot say.

I have since found some more information on this problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;198299

It is a work around but I believe the user has other issue's with their profile somewhere as any machine they use Office on they have issues with Excel files not opening properly which is now the main focus.

Thanks
