Help With Formatting a Mailer
Good afternoon,
I have been given the task of producing and formatting my Companies mailer this month. Basically, the way we do it at the moment is to create a word file, we have our company header/logo etc as a "Header" in word at the top, the write the contents on the frontpage. Following on from this we then produce a small profile of our featured candidates CV and email this document out to our Clients. At the moment it is very basic, and people can edit when opening it etc. Is there any other way of formatting this... Some way of locking it in word (because I understand not all computers/companies have Adobe Reader) etc. I'm trying to make it a bit different, but keep it professional. Maybe so you can click the Title in the contents page and it will take you to that relevant section etc. Thanks for any suggestions/Input in advance! Amnesia

Amnesia,
Please clarify what you mean by "some way of locking it in word" Do you want to be able to do something beyond making a read-only word file? One thing to consider is that not all companies/computers have any one given piece of software. Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Word, etc etc...

Okay,
Well all our contacts who we will be sending the mailer out too all definately have word. I would like to "lock the document" so it can not be edited by anyone. And that supposed "grammer" mistakes don't show up etc etc. Thanks again Amnesia

One option is the "Save as web page" fuction. Autocorrect tools won't show up, and it can be opened witha browser or word. Only problem is your formatting may not work out how you want it. Hopefully someone can give you a better answer, I don't know Word inside and out..

You can always go to Tools on the menu bar and select Protect Document. It will ask for a password. once given, save the document. noone should be able to edit the document without having the password to unprotect it.
(to make changes to the document, go to tools, unprotect, enter the password, edit the document then protect it again.) This works well for forms that have editable fields.
