problem printing from Word

I recently had a problem turn up where i can no longer print documents from Word. When I try to print, the printer scrolling tab comes up, the printer makes a fewnoises, the printer qeue states there is 1 document to print, then it says 'deleting' and that is the end of that. My printer (HP 2200 series) is the default printer. I can print a test page from the printers utility. I tried reinstalling the drivers to no effect. I plugged in a hp 7700 series printer and everything is fine. Also, when logged in as the admin., both printers worked fine. Any ideas??? As an aside, this problem showed up after two hours of tweaking to rid my computer of a hijack/spyware issue with the folks from microsoft on the phone. They had me run a bunch of utilities and delete a number of files...could this be related??? ( I am running XP media center sp2)
