Outlook 2002 won't open!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been having trouble with Outlook for a week now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it will not start. I get to the splash screen and it freezes. I have look for some things on Microsoft like deleting .dat file but none of that has worked. Not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?

Hi

I would do a search for outlook.pst and check the file size, if it is over 200Mb then Outlook tends not to open !

If this is the case, rename outlook.pst to outlookold.pst and re open outlook, it will create a new outlook.pst file that is empty and you can try to save your old email sby either:

A) opening the outlookold.pst file as an outlook data file and transferring emails out.

B) attempting to import email from this file.

If this is the case and neither are successful there are PST file splitters that can reduce the file size.

If this isnt the case try running outlook.exe /regserver from the run box or running scanpst.exe.

Regards
