Slow Save As Dialog
MS Office 2003 Pro, SP1
XP SP 2 Saving to Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Network Drive mapped as drive U: Whenever I try to save from any Office 2003 application to the network, it takes 5-10 seconds for the dialog box to respond from each keystroke while typing the file name, as if it's searching the drive like crazy for conflicting names. I've tried every wording I can think of on MS's site, to no avail. I've turned off the Inline Autocomplete in Explorer. It's very annoying, as on long names I just have to type them in and do something else until the program responds. Other applications run fine while Office deals with it in the background. |
