[resolved] Strange Word problem

DH's laptop has Office Xp SP3, XP Pro. The comp is not connected to the internet. In the last week it has started throwing errors in word. He can be typing in a document and an error pops up 'word cannot check the spelling of this as the french language pack is not installed'.
Ok he is not typing french, he's typing english.

Its an existing document he is changing so normal dot is not corrupt. I deleted normal dot just in case.
Once this error has popped up 3-4 times and he cancels the installation prompt its fine til the next time he opens word.
The comp is only set for english, no other language packs installed.
No other programs have been installed or removed during this time and no changes.

Thanks for that. I will try the suggestions on the second link, have already done those on the first one. Will let you know how I go.

Ok did everything suggested and it was still asking for the cd. Seems some of the words have french origin and even though it wasnt supposed to detect language, it was. Gave in and handed it the cd when it asked, problem seems to be fixed now.
