Email disappears

Hello just wondering if anyone can help. When I open email in outlook 2000 inbox then close it it has disappeared. If I move it to another file first I do not have the problem. Never sean this issue before and cant find much on the net about it. Thanks in advance.

By any chance is your View set to only show Unread Messages in your Inbox?

Yep that was the problem never had that issue before kids must have been playing around on here again I think. Thanks very much for the help.
