Lost .pdf format?

Further to uninstalling a trial version on Adobe Acrobat pro 7.0 all my .pdf file appears un recognised and i have lost the red adobe pdf symbol.
How can i get this back so that i can view these files with reader?

on a folder go to --->>> 'tools' -> 'folder options' -> 'file types' and change the program the file extension open with
