Table Macro in Word
I have a document in word that i am trying to automate. In this document there are several tables and I want to have a macro that upon confirmation after clicking a macro button inserts a string and the time(with seconds) into the first available cell in that specific table.

Re: Table Macro in Word
Hi ocvidman,
What are you using for the automation? Formfields? A Userform? Macrobutton fields? Active-X controls? Content Controls? How do you identify the particular table? What constiutes the 'first available cell' (any cell can be 'available', depending on your criteria)?

Re: Table Macro in Word
1. If it is a specific table, then bookmark it. Once bookmarked, you can make a table object of it by name - thus it does not matter if the table is moved, or if the number of rows/columns changes.
2. once you have your table object - and you have in fact defined your criteria of "first available" - then it is simple matter to test each cell using that criteria. The first cell that passes that criteria, put your string into it. |
