I am having an issue where Office 2007 will not double click to open older files with a doc...xls... extension.
I can double click any older doc file and Word will open but the document doesn't. When Word opens, it doesn't have 'compatibility mode' at the top. I can open Word then drill down to open the file that way and it works fine. I can run a repair on office and it will fix the issue temporarily. Windows XP SP3 Office 2007 Pro Plus |

Re: Office 2007 compatibility with older versions
If you have saved over these files using Office 2007 without providing that the file should be set to a 97-2003 format, you won't get compatibility mode.
Now, as far as if it is not loading the document, have you given it a minute or two to load? Is there any errors reported when loading? Any information would help. Thanks |
