EEK! Excel Formulae

Hi guys struggling on excel here.

Here goes.
sheet1 cells c5 to c109 have numbers in cells d5 to d109 have a drop down list called complete or decline. the range is specified on sheet 3

what I need is the following
when I click complete on a cell in the D range I want a calculation dividing the value in same numbered cell in C by 1000 then multiplying it by 11 and giving the answer in M5

any help would stop me from throwing my compute away

thanks chaps

Re: Excel Formulae

Hi and welcome!

It would be nice to see the spreadsheet and see how you are populating your list for starters.

Also, what do you want to be in M5 if DECLINE is selected? Blank or ZERO?

Here is an example of how you can make it work:

In M5 you would enter this calculation

=IF(D5="Completed",C5/1000*11,"")

If D5 is DECLINED it will be blank.
If D5 is Completed it will be 22 if C5 is 2000.

Thanks!

Re: Excel Formulae

Thanks for the reply, i tried the form but cant seem to get it to work.

what I want to do is if any d colums display completed I need the C colums to to /1000*11 so all C colums wil total up in M5.

If its decline I can leave it blank

When you say populate the list< I presume you mean how i put the options in the drop down.

i wrote the options in sheet 3 and used data validation under the name of status.

Is there away I an send you the sheet

Thanks for your help
