Outlook 2003: Need help configuring new email accounts :)
Hi all,
The company I work for has just set up a new entity and has bought several new email addresses to use with it, which are to be used by one user. I'll call the domain 'newdomain' and the user 'Joe Bloggs' for the sake of anonymity. We've got the following email addresses: joe.bloggs@newdomain.co.uk - This will be the main address joe.bloggs@newdomain.com mail@newdomain.co.uk enquiries@newdomain.co.uk I've set up all the accounts in Outlook 2003 and are sending and receiving mail perfectly. My question is this: If a customer sends a mail to 'enquiries@newdomain.co.uk' for example, and Joe Bloggs replies to this email, when the reply arrives in the original sender's mailbox, it says that it's from 'enquiries@newdomain.co.uk'. Is there any way I can set it so that no matter which mailbox is being used, it always sends the reply from the main address 'joe.bloggs@newdomain.co.uk'? I hope I've explained this OK... Please ask for clarification.

Yes. When joebloggs replies, before clicking "send", there will be a box next to the Send button "accounts". Click on the drop down arrow on the right side of this, and you'll see a list of the different email addresses setup on that PC. Choose "joe.bloggs" instead of "enquiries" and Outlook will Send As "joe.bloggs"
Hope this helps. |

Re: Outlook 2003: Need help configuring new email accounts :)
Superb, exactly what I was after, thanks!
Quickie follow-up question: Is there any way to set the main account as the default when replying? Even though the main account is set as default on the list of email accounts, if I reply to an email thats landed in, say, the Enquiries box, by default the replying address will be enquiries@... It's not a big deal to change it every time in the way you stated, but it could easily be forgotten by accident, it would just make it that bit easier if you didn't even have to think about it! Thanks again |

Hi axemblack, no I don't think there is a way to select default Reply address. I think each message will default to the address it came in on.
