Helo everyone!
We running outlook 2003, OS XP, Exchange Server. The companies policy is that one user should have two email acounts one personal eg (John.Simth) and the other one is solely for work perpus eg (it.tech). Lets assume John Simth is the IT Technician. He will be using his personal and the it.tech. He logs in to the domain with his user account john.smith and never with the it.tech account. The configuration is that after log in with his account he should be able to access both outlook profiles. The it.tech stays on top on All Mail Folders and john.smith on the bottom. what we did was we delegated permission to john.Smith to send and receive email on behalf of the it.tech. That works just fine The issue we having is that whenever we send or delete emails they all go to the top profile in this case it.tech. How can we stop this from happening? |

Re: Two Outlook Profiles with just one Sent, one Deleted item folder, Why?
Hello D111,
I don't know if you're already tried this: From Outlook 2003, go to InBox, from the top Menu click on View and select Arrange By E-Mail Account, you may do this do Delete Items, Sent Items as well so that it will sort out which email account you used to send/receive/delete emails.

Re: Two Outlook Profiles with just one Sent, one Deleted item folder, Why?
Thanks 2xgrump,
I did just as you suggested but my problem continues, the thing is that each mailbox as its own Sent Item folder and Deleted Item folders, the thing is when i send mail with account A it goes to its respective sent item folder but when i send mail with account B instead of going to its respective sent item folder it goes to the sent item folder of account A. The same thing happens to deleted massages. Any help is welcomed. |

Exchange only support one account (one mailbox) configured in Outlook. You may however add and configure POP3 Account and will resolve your issue.

Re: Two Outlook Profiles with just one Sent, one Deleted item folder, Why?
might be by design...
see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/247847/en-us and is IT tech a delegate of john... ? Could he not add john's account as additional mailbox and then when sending a mail, changing the "From" field 8or does it have to be "on behalf" ?? Maybe mails would then go to respective "sent items" folders.. Last edited by sobersong; 10-30-2009 at 05:16 AM. |
