Can't install Office Word 2007

Please help! I have Word 2002 on my computer. Not Office Suite, just Word. I bought an Office Word 2007 Update. It says it will work with Microsoft Word 2002.

The first time I tried to install it, it acted like it was installed, but then I got the error "encountered an error during setup. Error 2203. An Internal Error has occurred." (c:\Windows\Installer\fie40.ipi -2147287035.) It messed up my Word 2002 and I had to go back to a restore point.

I searched the world over on this error and didn't find any satisfactory answers. Tried the Temp thing. Didn't help.

I have used a Registry Cleaner, but I was having problems with Windows Updates installing before that. Some would, some wouldn't.

The last time I tried to install Word 2007 (5 minutes ago), I got the same message as before. I have spent hours on this. Please help!

I am using a Toshiba Satellite, Windows Vista and have plenty of memory, ram, etc.

check program files in local disk check for micrsoft office if there is a file then delete it

Thanks for your suggestion imtiyazsama. I deleted some office files, but it didn't help any.

Try creating a new user account with admin rights and try to install the program from the new user account.
