office 2007 problem

Hi

I just recently installed office 2007, upgrading from 2003 cause windows 7 wont install the compatibility pack for it, but everytime i try to open it, it keeps reinstalling office.

Ive searched google and found that some other people are having these same problems aswel and tried to solve it using the way people suggested but it still doesnt fix it.

Can anyone help me with this problem please?

Thanks

Re: office 2007 problem

avernus....pls try this suggestions:

Go To start and run and then type in services.msc
and then search for windows installer right click and make it automatic and
start
the services once that is done
click on start and run and then type in msiexec.exe /unregister click on Ok
and then msiexec.exe /regserver .
you will not get anything on the screen as it is background process
try to open office application you should be able to open without the
windows installer prompt

If this does not work
got to regedit from start run
rught click on HKEY classes root and
give permission to everyone

i tried the first way and it didnt work but how do i give permission? its greyed out and says

"No permissions have been assigned for this object.

Warning: this is a potential security risk because anyone who can access this object can take ownership of it. The object’s owner should assign permissions as soon as possible."

Re: office 2007 problem

Are you trying to start the program from the start menu? Have you tried going to the office folder and starting with the executable?

Re: office 2007 problem

If you are using windows 7 Beta, this could be an issue, I would wait for the full working version that will be out very soon then try to install Office 2007.
