office 2007 wont open files...

suddenly every time i try to open a file it says "locked for editing by 'another user'" i am the only user on the computer.

can someone please help me?

right click on the file - go to properties - check the security tab. are you the only user with permissions, no other old user accounts still active?

yes i am and always was the only user...i have re-installed office twice and it still wont open any files

Is it the same file, are you on a network or is it your home PC?

Here are some suggestions:

1.) run CCcleaner to remove temp files, here's the link => http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
2.) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313472
