Error 0x80042108 in Outlook 2003
When I try to retrieve my e-mails from my mail accounts with outlook 2003 I get an error message like this (it's in German):
Fehler (0x80042108) beim Ausführen der Aufgabe "xxxx - Nachrichten werden empfangen": "Outlook kann keine Verbindung mit dem Posteingangsserver (POP3) herstellen. Wenn Sie diese Meldung weiterhin erhalten, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Serveradministrator oder Internetdienstanbieter." I've tried the help from the Microsoft knowledge base, which recommends to check the profiles' settings. They are as they should be. I used the same settings in Outlook Express and they work. And they worked before. The problem started when I reinstalled Office 2003 in order to repair excel which was successful except for the outlook problem. In parallel I have a problem with Panda Antivirus 2009 where it says that the firewall is not activated, which I cannot solve with the click on the offered button. When I start my computer another error message appears stating something like 'The update module couldn't connect to the internet, check your internet connection', but I have no hint which update module this is and the internet is connected. I work with windows XP professional SP 3, Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234, updated regularly. My internet connection is active and works. Can someone give me a clue, please? |
