delete frames from Word 2007 doc w/o upsetting formatting—can it be done?
Hello,
I'm editing a document in Word 2007 that appears to have been set up for eventual transition to Framemaker: there are a thousand little blue frames in it, each a naggingly cool serated blue line. If I delete a line, in one of these frames, it doesn't pull up the remaining line. If I insert a line, it doesn't just move the text forward as it would if the frame weren't there; it moves it in apparently arbitrary chunks. When I try to delete one of these frames, it completely f***s up the placing of the text (and the formatting: bulleted lists, headers, footers—all go awry). Is there any way to delete the frames/framing in one fell swoop, rather than frame by frame (thereby necessitating an endless chore of moving the data), w/o completely wrecking the doc as it's formatted? Please help me if you can and soon! THANKS! CEdM |

Re: delete frames from Word 2007 doc w/o upsetting formatting—can it be done?
mullivar,
Unfortunately, I can't provide a screen shot. The photo-editor thingy on my computer is on the fritz. All you have to do to make the "frame" show up, though, is--well, is to click anywhere in the text; the "frame" for that particular section shows up automatically. As I said before, I'm pretty certain that this is an indicator that this doc has been set-up for eventual transition to FrameMaker. I'm thinking that there's an option for that somewhere in Word--somewhere one goes to establish the frames. I just want to unestablish them. CEdM |
