Re: office 2003 and office 2007

There's a registry hack you can use to fix this.

Go to the START Menu
Click on "Run..."
Type in "Regedit"
Click OK
Drill down to the following folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\11.0\WORD\OPTIONS

Right-Click on the "Options" folder
Select NEW then DWORD Value
A new item should appear on the right-hand screen
Name it "NoRereg" (without quotes)
Right-Click the "NoRereg" entry
Select "Modify"
Enter a value of 1
Click OK
Close the Registry Editor

That should do it.

Hi Chaps, Just found this so sorry if its closed and Im still posting..

Thats brilliant, but will it also work for other apps (Excel etc?) I am aware that only 1 version of outlook should be installed so thats not an issue.
Thanks

Dave

Re: [SOLVED] office 2003 and office 2007

As far as I know, Word and Access are the only apps that have this issue of reregistering themselves when switching from one version to the other. Word can be fixed as stated above, but there is no way to fix the problem with Access.

In my experience, Excel behaves just fine in a dual-install environment. Are you having issues with Excel?
