Outlook 2007 attachment issue

the setup:

XP Pro - patched and service packed

Office 2007 SBE - Up to date

User can open .xls and .xlsx files with no problems.
User is a local admin.
User receives a .xlsx file in Outlook, but cannot open it or save it (permissions error?)
Other users receive the same email and have no problems.

What do y'all think?

have u checked the registry permissions for .xlsx files.
also u can check the file association for .xlsx files.
