Re: MS Excel Problems

Hi James,

Have you tried repairing your Excel installation (Help|Detect & Repair - Excel 2000-2003 - Excel Options|Resources|Diagnose - Excel 2007)?

Re: MS Excel Problems

Hi James,

Unstalling then reinstalling usually doesn't fix anything that repairing doesn't, but it may be worth a try. However, if the problem is with only one workbook, it's likely that workbook is corrupt and that the basic installation is OK. Also, do you have all the updates for whatever version you're using installed?

Re: MS Excel Problems

Hi James,

If the workbook is corrupt, simply reload it from a known good backup. Software like Avast won't fix file corruption.

Re: MS Excel Problems

Hi James,

Making a backup can be as simple as saving a copy to different media and keeping that copy safe somewhere. If you haven't already made a backup, it's too late for this file - you'll probably need to recreate it from scratch (unless you've got a good copy attached to an email, for example).
