Excel 2002, Very slow opening files, HELP
Hello All, Hopefully someone on here can help me out with an issue I have been troubleshooting for quite some time.
I have a computer that is running Windows XP SP2 and Office XP Standard (Word,Excel,PowerPoint 2002) that is taking about 2-5 minutes to open Excel files using the Open or File Open within Excel. The file located on the root of the C:\ Drive and is only 48K in size. It appears to open just fine if I navigate to the file and double click it but will take a few minutes to open if I try and use the Excel Open File menu or CTRL+O. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Office Completely reimaged/reformatted the hard drive. This does not occur on any other computers and I'm at a total loss as to what could possibly be happening since I've already completely re-imaged the hard disk.(Figured that would have taken care of any software issues) Hopefully someone will be able to chime in with some useful info, Thanks everyone! |

Re: Excel 2002, Very slow opening files, HELP
I had this problem too. What was causing it for me was the default printer was set to a network printer. I have also seen this happen due to printer that was no longer available too. Check your printers first and set a local printer to the default and give that a try.
