Word 2003 toolbar likes to keep changing
I just changed from Word 2000 under W98 to Word 2003 under XP. When I tried to rearrange the main toolbar to my liking, I noticed right away that as I click on things, they change their position on the toolbar -- apparently to "help" me more readily access the more frequently used items. Call me crazy, but I feel that my knowing where to find them is the fastest way for me to access them, thank-you-very-much.
I cannot seem to find anything anywhere that alludes to being able to lock the toolbar, but I suspect that has to be possible to do and that the method exists somewhere. But I cannot seem to find it! (Maybe it was on the toolbar and it moved!) Thanks! Jay |

Create your own customised toolbar is the easiest way to go:
Click on View Menu Click customise On the toolbar page click NEW Assign a file name…Such as custom1 Click on commands page Next to the open dialogue box you will see a small empty toolbar. You can work your way through the various menus and simply drag them onto this toolbar. You can also drag them about on this toolbar to appear in any order that you want. Remove the ticks from the other toolbars except the one you have just created, and the menu bar. Personally I leave the drawing toolbar on and it will appear at the bottom of the screen. Unless you remove these ticks from the customise toolbar menu these will remain as default even if you turn off the computer. To access further tools just add a tick in the customise menu folder for what you want. Or drag them from the customise menu onto you toolbar It is not a long process it will take a couple of minutes to set up HOPE THIS HELPS DOTCOM |
