Word 2007 save as pdf results in vertical blue bars in pdf
Hi All,
I'm usually pretty clever at troubleshooting software problems, but this one has me stumped. Am using Vista Business and Word 2007. Word's save as pdf is nice and simple and I have created hundreds of 'save as' pdfs without incident -- until now. One of my resumes looks fine in .doc format (compatibility mode). When I save as pdf, the resulting pdf has 4 vertical blue bars that show both onscreen AND print these bars as gray from my monochrome laser. I have a lot of .doc (compatibility mode) documents that I save as pdf, and this is the only document that does this! See attached document for screenshot examples. I have done a Google search, searched in microsoft office forum, acrobat forum, have looked at the Word Options for some clue, with no luck. I have even converted the document to .docx and saved as pdf -- same vertical blue bars. Since this is a resume, it is important to resolve this problem, as I normally would only email a resume in pdf format unless requested otherwise. If nothing else works, the next step might be to create the document from scratch, copying and pasting the content. Anyone have any clues? Barbara |

Re: Word 2007 save as pdf results in vertical blue bars in pdf
Case closed, but maybe this last bit of info might help others who experience this in the future.
I still haven't figured out what caused the vertical blue bars problem, but the solution was to do the last step I mentioned (create a new doc, copy and paste info from old doc). I can only conclude that something in the original document became corrupted . . . Barbara |
