Word 2003 - words have disappeared in saved files !

Hi all

I have an issue where some of the documents I have saved show a blank page when I open the file. The document does show in word count that there are x number of characters in the document.

This issue seems to have occured when I saved files at work and brought them to my computer at home or viceversa. It hasnt occured for all the documents. Im running Word 2003 and suspect possibly that work had 2007 but cant remember and am no longer there.

Ive tried installing the compatibility software but that hasnt resolved the problem. On some forums where a similar problems have been cited its been suggested that the words are the same colour as the background and to just change the font colour. This hasn't done anything either.

These are pretty important documents so would be grateful for any sugestions ?

Hmmmm any suggestions ? Its driving me nuts .....

Hi Tdamien,

I suspect you've got text formatted as hidden. You can display such text by checking the 'hidden text' option under Tools|Options|View. You can also re-format the text to remove the 'hidden' attribute (see Format|Font).

Thx for the idea but unfortunately nothing prints either.

Hi Tdamien,

Try saving the file in RTF format, then opening in WordPad.
