Re: How to create a dropdown box?

Hi

There are several ways, so a bit more info about what you are trying to achieve would help.

You can use the Control Toolbar, the Forms Toolbar or Data Validation....

Re: How to create a dropdown box?

I am writing a liquor costing spreadsheet and would like a dropdown box to select between 3 sizes of liquor bottles(.750ml, 1.14L or 1.75L) to decide what to divide by(26, 40 or 60)in the breakdown of the bottle in oz.

Re: How to create a dropdown box?

Ideally, the box will display the 3 three values and the in my last cell the value decides what to divide by.

Hope that this make sense, and Thank You for your help in advance.

Re: How to create a dropdown box?

Hi again

See if the attached helps. I've used Data Validation for the drop down, with values taken from a Named range.

Then there is a formula in the breakdown cell. Note that you have to show values like 1.14L as 1140 to allow the formula to work.

Hopefully that will give you an a good idea and a start.
