Firstly i must apologize, i only saw the office support thread after i posted here...can i move it...? or will a mod move it? anyway sorry again...
Hi guys, I have a few accounts computers that connect to sbs2003 the one accountant had been complaining about the time it took to open some files on the server. after looking on her pc i saw she was running office xp i installed office 2003 and sp3 along with it. the first thing i found strange was that shortcuts to word and excel files (on her desktop) that were stored on the server, had no association. i can reset the icon to word or excel then i opened a file on the server and it was fine. but when i closed it i got "do you want to save the changes to xxxxx.xls microsoft office excel recalculates formulas when opening files last saved by an earlier version of excel" i googled the problem but it only seemed to be office 2007 related.and it told you sort of how to get around the problem...but i have concerns. i clicked on on two or so files...and said no as i was affraid of saving some change that would harm the files. and it was the only way to get out of excel whats going on? has anybody else experienced this? please Last edited by jonin; 06-28-2009 at 03:19 PM. |
