Hi,
I have a computer running a Pentium D proccesor, 2 gb of Ram and a frustrating 9500gt video card. My issue today is Microsoft Office 2007, particurly Word. So, I'm typing away on Microsoft Word then the screen turns black for half a second then returns to normal. Ten seconds later, the computer freezes up with no mouse function and after pressing Ctrl, alt, del.: a beep from the computer. About one minute later, the screen turns black and then makes room for a nice BSOD reading: DEVICE_STUCK_IN_LOOP. The BSOD also said the problem was caused by the file NV4_disp. The computer is now frequently repeating the same process everytime whilst I'm typing (at totally random times). The time it tends to do it most is during fast scrolling or typing. I have tried many things to attempt to solve this issue including: Adding more ram (1gb to 2gb) Running XP with no driver Downloading latest driver Freeing up hard drive space and defragmenting (proved useful for a while) Disabling hardware acceleration (proved useful for a while) Running all word programs off a different hard drive Disabling all background procceses Running anti-virus scans And lots more... I can pretty much confirm the issue is video card related. Just to let you know, the video card is a Foxconn 9500gt 512Fr3 (512mb GDDR3). Foxconn is not answering their phone or my many emails and neither is megaware.com.au (place of purchase). I guess the public is my last resort. Any help would be deeply appreciated and please, HURRY! P.S. Feel free also to ask anymore questions if necesseary. |

Re: Office 2007 randomly flashes BSOD
Hi magnetic_tiger,
Have you tried repairing your Office installation (Word Options|Resources|Diagnose)?

Re: Office 2007 randomly flashes BSOD
That sounds like a classic video driver problem. Have you checked the NVidia site for a driver?

Re: Office 2007 randomly flashes BSOD
I have checked Nvidia site and updated and even downgraded my driver. The weird thing is this only happens on Word and not on any 3D games.
