Problem with MS Word highlighting behind text

I have a client running MS Word 2000 on Win98. It starts up okay but when you type it places a block of colour behind the entire line you are typing on. You can't see what you are typing. If you zoom in or out it disappears but reappears as soon as you start typing again.

I know the product quite well and have searched the Options but to no avail. To me it seems to be a memory problem. The computer is a Pentium II with 64MB Ram and Microsoft specs show that this should be enough to run Office but I am doubtful. I feel this is the problem.

Has anyone else had this occur? If so, what did you do???

Thanks,

Redback

I would try adding some more memory. I do know that 64MB is the required but 128MB is the recommended. I have found that anything from MS in 2000 runs better with the recomended 128MB.
