deleting large file in Outbox

I tried to send an attachment in Outlook 2003 (running on XP). It is too large and is stuck. I couldn't find any help in Microsoft helps so finally archived that folder. Then I did a really stupid thing -- I opened that outlook folder (still couldn't delete the email), closed Outlook, then deleted the archive and tried to open Outlook again. It keeps look for the archive, and I still can't get rid of the email. How do I fix this mess I made?

Re: deleting large file in Outbox

G'day stuckone ...

If I understand correctly, the message is stuck in the Outbox.

Set Outlook offline using File > Work Offline. Then open the Outbox and try to delete the message.

If successful, then set Outlook online using File > Work Offline.
