buffer overrun in word

Word 11 from office 2003 pro, xp sp3. I work in 2 languages. This setup has been working well for several years. Now, whenever I try to work in my second language, which is Hebrew, I get the buffer overrun and the program closes. This does not happen if I work in English only. My system is constantly and automatically checked for virus and malware infections, and it comes up clean. I have done a repair/reinstall of office and run the detect and repair in word. I have also done a check disk, and installed kb887979. Nothing helped. if I so much as enter one letter in Hebrew, as soon as I press the space bar the program shuts down. I can enter as many letters as I want, but they must remain as one word. Pressing the space bar triggers the buffer overrun. I also get the buffer overrun if I try to open an existing file which contains Hebrew Help would be much appreciated. Thanks esmo..
