Trouble formatting Hyperlinks

After downloadings Windows XP updates 2 days ago, the format of hyperlinks showing in Word 2003 documents has changed from blue text/underlined, to braced {HYPERLINK .......}. I can not find a way to change the hyperlink format back to the original, shorter form. Help!

Hi and welcome to TSF.

Go to Tools > Options > View Tab and uncheck the box in the right side that says "Field Codes".
