Cannot Reinstall MS Office 2003
I have the Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 software. I am trying to reinstall it on my computer and am receiving an error message. I am getting the following message:
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can acces it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Patch package." After checking the Microsoft website it tell me to remove MS Office using the Window Installer Cleanup Utility. I can install the program but I am unable to open and run it. Looking at my programs I see that I have Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 and Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003. Neither of these are the edition I bought. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am unable to open and of my Excel or Word files. Thanks. |

Re: Cannot Reinstall MS Office 2003
Uninstall all versions of office and then install just the one you need.

Re: Cannot Reinstall MS Office 2003
I would try booting in to safe mode and then try to run the windows installer cleanup utility to see if that works. You might have a virus or some kind of rogue software installed on your system so if safe mode doesn't work, I'd look at that.

Alright I can start up in safe mode, but I am still unable to do anything with the Microsoft Office files or programs. I get the same errors and the same end result. I also ran my virus scan and my system was clean. Any other suggestions?
