Microsoft Outlook Problem & slow online
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and unfortunately when it comes to diagnosing problems I have no clue what I'm doing other than surfing, checking email and using word I'm lost when it comes to figuring out what's causing the problem(s). I've been having problems with my email microsoft outlook. Every time I log into my email to check it, it takes forever like 10 minutes or longer for my messages to be received and most times I get an error message stating time out occurred. Today I had 17 emails coming in and two of the 17 came in but then I got an error message. This error message stated: "A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to send data to the server. ERROR MESSAGE # 0X800ccc13" and also a message stating 1 message could not be retrieved from the server. I've also noticed that when I'm online it's taking a very long time for web pages to load and sometimes I get a pop up message stating, "virtual memory low". My computer use to be pretty fast, now it's so slow that it makes it impossible to do anything online. I'm using Windows XP professional version 2002, SP 3 and Microsoft Office 2000 which I cannot find the disk for. I have a AMD Athlon 64 processor, 3000+, 2.00 Ghz, 512 mb of ram. I use Avast home free version for antivirus, and super anti-spyware. I was considering switching to AVG anti virus but have not done so yet because I'm not sure if AVG will do a better job than Avast. Another tech sight had me download, HJT, malwarebytes, otscanit, drwebcureit and combo fix for other problems I was having but they could not figure out what was causing the problems I'm having now, which lead me to your sight. I appreciate you taking the time to read my post and hopefully being able to help me figure out and fix the above problems! Thank you so much! |

Re: Microsoft Outlook Problem & slow online
Your computer may be infected by viruses.
Computers with 512 mb of ram may be a little bit slow while loading web pages. But it should not use all memory.
