MS Office 2007 Licensing

Hello I have 30 desktops here at work which need MS Office 2007 on them.

Can someone tell me please the best (cheapest) way to license these?

Thanks for your help

Re: MS Office 2007 Licensing

Contact Microsoft and ask them about their Volume Licensing program.

Re: MS Office 2007 Licensing

Sometimes you can get volume licenses cheaper than going through Microsoft. We got our volume license for Office 2007 from Dell and it was quite a bit cheaper that MS directly.

Perhaps, but I bet Dell probably sold you OEM copies, not retail copies of the software. There are licensing term differences between OEM and retail copies, the most significant being that once you install an OEM copy on one machine, it is wedded to that machine and can not be transferred to another machine even if the original machine gets run over by a truck.

In this case that does not apply, as there are no "Retail" VLK's. Individual licenses can be purchased through the retail channel, but volume licenses are always from a distributor or MS direct.

Re: MS Office 2007 Licensing

So, you are saying that there will be no differences in the license terms whether I bought the volume licenses from MS or Dell? In that case, I guess I should keep that in mind (not that I am ever going to buy software in volume). Thank you.
