For some time I have been trying to do a "detect and repair" on my Office 2003 Professional edition and each time I insert the disc, as it tells me to do, I get a message stating that i can't find one of the above-mentioned cab files. The original CD is in there and I click RIGHT on the file it asks for and it still says it's missing. I've looked extensively for months on the Microsoft website and just got done downloading the LIS source tool. THAT even told me it was missing the cab file. So I did the same thing, clicked on the file from the original CD and it still didn't recognize it.
I'm planning on upgrading to Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 from Windows XP Pro SP2 and need to be able to re-install my OUtlook, etc., but don't feel I can do so without correcting the missing cab file issue. Please advise. Thanks. Sherri Last edited by sharee511; 01-31-2009 at 07:20 PM. |

Re: MG561411.CAB and now MH561402.CAB FILES MISSING!
insert the disk in the drive.
create a new folder on your desktop name it office. copy the contents of the cd to this new folder and see what happens. then you can use the files from this folder to repair or install office. did you had any other previous version of office on ur system |

Re: MG561411.CAB and now MH561402.CAB FILES MISSING!
Hey, yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I have a previous version in a folder called OFFICE10. The current one is OFFICE11. So the Office10 folder may be a previous version. I'll try that. Thanks!
