Is it possible to merge from Word to Excel?
I have a word doc with fields that I would like merged or exported into excel, like sort of a reverse mail merge. Is this possible? The word doc would sit on 4 or 5 different pc's and each time it is updated I would like it dumped into the same excel spreadsheet.
Thanks! |

Re: Is it possible to merge from Word to Excel?
Hi Jennifer,
You can set up a link between a bookmark in Word and a cell in Excel, so that each time the bookmarked range in Word is updated, the cahnge will be reflected in Excel. You can create such a bookmark/link arrangement by: . copying the desired range in Word, . going to the target Excel cell and selecting Edit|Paste Special and choosing the 'Paste Link' option with, say, the text output option. The main hassle you'll have with this is that Word bookmarks are all too easy to delete when you're trying to update them. You might find this a bit easier to manage if you use a FILLIN field in the Word document to solicit the input, and copy that before pasting the link.
