Problem with Office Word 2007
Hi, I'm having a problem with Microsoft Office Word 2007. I typed up a document the other day that had to be converted in order for me to send it to someone else and since getting it back from them in an e-mail in it's now in "compatibility mode." I tried making some changes to the document but every time I try to make any changes to the document it says "this modification is not allowed because the selection is locked." I figured it was just that document but now I can't type any document in Word at all. Even if I open a blank document in word I cant type anything and I get the same message "This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked." I don't know how this could have happened seeing as I haven't touched any of the settings for Word. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Re: Problem with Office Word 2007
Is your word a trial version? If not, have you activated the product? This thread seems to indicate that is the cause of this problem.
If that is not the case, I found the following as another possible reason: [Office Button] -> Prepare menu has a "Mark as Final" option that makes a document Read Only. If this has been done, there is an icon in the Status Bar (to the right of the Word Count) that says "Marked as Final" when you hover over it. To undo, just go back to the Prepare menu and select the "Mark as Final" option again. Google for this error message and there are a bunch of hits.
